Welcome
to the Homepage of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Wyoming Alpha
Chapter.
Present
on the University of Wyoming Campus since 1917 as SAE, this
chapter was founded in 1903 as Sigma Beta Phi, a locally organized
and operated fraternity. Our combined heritage makes us the
oldest fraternal group on the University of Wyoming campus,
now adding new strength everyday in our second century of existence
as a part of the largest national fraternity in America today.
Since
our founding, the chapter has created one of the strongest and
most honorable traditions both in Wyoming, and inside the realm
of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, earning recognition from the Board of
Trustees at the University of Wyoming, the UW Office of Student
Life, philanthropic organizations such as the Childrens' Miracle
Network and Albany County SAFE Project, and the Sigma Alpha
Epsilon National Fraternity.
This past
year, the chapter was distinguished with honors at both the
72nd John O. Moseley Leadership School including The Rex A.
Smith Chapter Efficiency Award, The
Campus/Intrafraternity Leadership Award, The Joseph C. Mancini
Community Relations Award (generally considered the third-most
significant award from the National Chapter), and the Sigma
Alpha Epsilon Chapter Achievement Award. The last of these was
given to the top chapters in the realm of SAE. Also, Brother
Christopher Miller of Gillette, Wyoming was accorded the special
honor of being initated at the culmination of the 72nd Leadership
School.
Wyoming
Alpha was awarded the highest single award bestowed upon a single
chapter of SAE, the John O. Mosely Award for Fraternity Zeal
in 1979.
